Operation of coolers
The Portacool air coolers work with tap water and are easy to connect to a garden hose. Once equipped with a 230v electrical connection, the air coolers are immediately easy to use.
Each Portacool air cooler is equipped with a patented filter, also called a pad, which ensures that the air is sucked in. A water pump ensures that these pads are constantly kept moist. These pads are in turn equipped with small channels that create a vortex that optimally evaporates the water. This evaporation ensures that all heat is extracted from the air and that the outgoing air is therefore nice and cool and fresh. We also call this adiabatic cooling, or evaporative cooling.

Portacool mobile air coolers work best when placed in well-ventilated areas. Good ventilation ensures that warm air easily leaves the room and that cool air easily fills the room again. This makes the coolers ideal for workshops where the door is often open or a large space where cooling was previously very difficult.

The great thing about Portacool mobile air coolers is that they do not use refrigerants. This means that CO2 emissions are much lower than with, for example, more traditional cooling systems. Because the pads are on the suction side of the cooler, they function as a filter, as it were. Because the air is filtered and cleaned, the coolers also ensure a better indoor climate.
The portacool mobile air cooler consists of the following parts:
- Connection for electricity and tap water
- Control panel
- Patented pads
- Fan
- Water pump
- Water reservoir
